Treatment Plan, Information & Expectations:
What to expect from your first diagnostic and treatment session:
A chiropractor is a primary contact physician, so you can book an appointment without a referral. The doctor will schedule between 45 minutes and 1 hr to get your complete medical history and do a physical exam to pinpoint the cause of your problem. From there, the doctor will outline a treatment plan including treatment options, number of visits, and expected resolution of your case.
The course of further treatments will vary from one patient to the next. Your chiropractor may feel that follow-up treatments are indicated based on your unique circumstances, and if so, he or she will let you know at the end of your first visit. Maintenance treatments are recommended every 4-6 weeks.
While chiropractors make no use of drugs or surgery, they do refer patients for medical care when those interventions are indicated.
