This treatment consists of Massage techniques (e.g. compressions, myofascial release, joint mobilizations) combined with FST (Fascial Stretch Therapy) and IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization).
Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST) is a form of pain-free therapist-assisted stretching that uses gentle oscillating movements of traction and stretch to decompress joints and expand space in the soft tissues (muscles, fascia, etc). The benefits of an FST and Massage Therapy combined treatment can include reduction in pain, muscle tension and post-exercise muscle soreness; lower levels of stress, anxiety, and depression.
IASTM is a skilled intervention that includes the use of specialized tools to manipulate the skin, myofascia, muscles, and tendons by various direct compressive stroke techniques.
Clinical studies have shown IASTM treatments can improve ROM, strength and pain perception.
FST and Massage Therapy can also improve joint mobility, circulation, lymphatic drainage, recovery and tissue healing after injury, sleep, mood and mental alertness.
For these treatments, it is best to have on athletic wear / clothes that you can easily move in.
